What is Mailman?
Mailman is the Web-based mail list manager used at Ohio University. It allows list owners to create and modify lists easily as
well as add and remove subscribers without having to know specific
commands. List subscribers can easily modify their list subscriptions and
preferences. You may already be familiar with other mail list managers
such as ListProc or Listserv. Many people find Mailman more convenient and
easier to use than email-based mail list managers.
You can request that a new Mailman list be created for you by
sending an email to mailman@listserv.ohio.edu
from your university address. Include a preferred list name (32 characters maximum, no spaces).
Select from the links below for information for list owners,
moderators, and subscribers.

What Happened to LISTSERV?
The LISTSERV software was no longer adequate to handle the number of
lists and amount of traffic it was seeing. OIT made the decision
to replace LISTSERV with Mailman.
