Media Streaming

Faculty who have an interest in having a classroom or special event streamed have two options to choose from. Either they can pay to have this done for them or they can learn to do it themselves.

If you are interested in paying to have an event videotaped and streamed for you, you will need to contact, Kevin Price from WOUB.  Kevin will come and videotape your event, archive it for you, and upload it to a server to be streamed. His price is $100 per hour for his services. If you would like him to just record your event so that you can do the streaming yourself, his price is reduced to $75.00 per hour.

If you would like to videotape your own event, you can borrow or rent video cameras from Instructional Media Equipment on the 2nd floor in Alden Library. There is no charge to faculty who are borrowing equipment for instructional purposes. Charges will be assessed to workshops, conferences, research contracts, university-related organizations, student groups, and to all users for services that are not intended solely for direct academic credit classroom use. The price to borrow a mini-dv video camcorder is $15.00 per day. Video tapes can be purchased for $2.14 per 60/120 minute tape.
