Students play an important part in the governance of Ohio University. Student Senate and Graduate Student Senate are recognized by the Board of Trustees as part of the university's formal governance structure (along with Faculty Senate, Administrative Senate, and Classified Senate). In addition, two students serve as non-voting members of the Board of Trustees.
