Abstract
Two "holistic" worlds meet: Lessons learned during my trip to South Africa
The premise is that while both Play Soccer and OU's coaching education program promote a holistic curriculum they each have individual shortcomings, but when working in tandem the "whole child" is catered too. I would present basic information on Play Soccer as a "plus sport" program and the history of the US Youth Soccer curriculum. The videos and archival data demonstrate exchanges of information, activities and growth on both sides. Then, I would propose (or ask the audience) how this relationship can blossom to be an example for other Sport and Development programs. |
