Paul Darby
Paul Darby is a lecturer in the sociology of sport at the University
of Ulster. He has published several articles on the relationship between Africa
and Europe as mediated by football and is author of ' Africa , Football and
FIFA: Politics, Colonialism and Resistance'. He has also written on the politics
of sport in Northern Ireland , sport and Swedish social democracy and the role
of Gaelic games amongst the Irish diaspora in the United States . He was Senior
Academic Editor of the international journal 'Soccer and Society' between 2000-2005
and now sits on the editorial board of the journal. He received his doctorate
from the University of Ulster in 1997. |
