OUS NURSING INSTRUCTOR RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD

Nursing instructor at Southern Campus receives national award for innovative teaching program.

Mashawna Hamilton, an assistant professor in the nursing program on Ohio University’s

Southern Campus, recently accepted the 2014 Elsevier Leading Star Award in the category of Excellence in Simulation within the nursing profession.

ART GALLERY- SCULPTURE ALISON HELM

OUS Art Department Celebrates Sculpture Exhibit

Renowned West Virginia artist and sculptor, Alison Helm, will attend an opening reception at the Ohio University Southern Art Gallery on Thursday, January 16th from­ 6-8 pm to celebrate a month-long exhibit for one of her unique sculptures, “Oil Slick Imprint.” Helm’s sculptures have been exhibited at various galleries, museums and sculpture parks throughout the United States, Japan, Taiwan and Mexico.

JAZZ CONCERT

Feb 6 at 7pm

Jazz vocalist Kim Keffer will be perform songs from the “Great American Songbook” in the Mains Rotunda of the Riffe Center. A native of Boyd County, Kentucky, Keffer will be accompanied by Barry Gillum on keyboards and Gary Helton on bass. The concert is free and open to the public.

LOVE YOUR BODY

“Love Your Body” Health & Wellness Expo:­ February 13­­ 11am-3pm

Join us in the Mains Rotunda for important information on maintaining a healthy mind, body, and spirit.­ There will be live demonstrations, free massages, and door prizes.

RECYCLEMANIA

RecycleMania begins February 3rd.­­ Once again, OUS is participating in this 8-week national competition to raise awareness about the importance of recycling. Last year, more than 700 colleges and universities joined this effort.

WE'RE ALL EARS

“We’re All Ears!” Student Satisfaction Surveys are coming! OUS wants to know what you think about our campus and your education experience. During the week of February 10th, we will participate in the Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Survey. Your class may be among those chosen to complete a survey. Your feedback is confidential. Results from this survey will impact institutional decision making. During this week, Student Services will be available to answer your questions about the survey, and we’ll also have a special reception to celebrate the completion of the survey period. As a bonus, you could win a special prize for your voluntary participation.
