Some of the conveniences available in the Microsoft Office Suite, such as macros and embedded text, can be exploited to perform undesired tasks on your computer, compromising your security. Microsoft is continuously fixing and repairing these exploits and holes, and it is highly recommended to periodically update your Office Suite with the latest files available.
To check for, and install, available updates to Microsoft Office: - Launch any application included in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, etc.)
- Open the Help menu and choose “Check for Updates.”
- A web browser will launch to the office update page, http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx
- Click on the “Check for Updates” link and follow the instructions on the page.
