OHIO journalism faculty votes to condemn arrests of journalists, including alumnus Wes Lowery

Aug 15, 2014 The faculty of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism joins with the National Association of Black Journalists, the Radio Television Digital News Association, the Society of Professional Journalists (see statements below), and other news organizations in condemning the arrest of journalists, including alumnus Wes Lowery, carrying out their constitutionally protected work in reporting about the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri.

WOUB’s Perspectives examines hard issues through a local lens

Aug 5, 2014 Perspectives, a WOUB Public Media series that started as a conversation-style show dealing with global issues has morphed into a cinematic, mostly monologue-based web series highlighting world problems, LGBT issues, disability and inclusion, sexual assault and more in an emotional, compelling way.

Aug 4, 2014 Evan Shaw and Lynn Harter were recipients of an Emmy award Aug. 1 for an excerpt of a new documentary series “The Courage of Creativity.” Two student groups were also among the winners.

Scripps’ High School Journalism, Media Workshops under way at OHIO

Jul 10, 2014 Nearly 175 high school students from across the nation arrived at the main campus of Ohio University in Athens earlier this week for the High School Journalism Workshop and the first High School Media Workshop. Both workshops conclude Sat., July 12.
