What can you do with a communication degree? In short, the sky is the limit. Our alumni are communication leaders in ever discipline of the industry. They are not only asking the tough questions in this ever-changing field, but are finding solutions that help the world move forward. Scripps alumna found career ‘golden ticket’ through innovation challenge win

Nov 18, 2014 Leah Petrovich, broadcast major and 2013 alumna, knew the feeling all too well when she said goodbye to Athens two years ago and took a position as a broadcast sports intern at WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh. Petrovich had spent the past four years at OU studying broadcast journalism, but after working for five months in the field, she wasn’t sure it was the right path for her.

Scripps School of Journalism joins with the National Association of Black Journalists, the Radio Television Digital News Association, the Society of Professional Journalists (see statements below), and other news organizations in condemning the arrest of journalists, including alumnus Wes Lowery, carrying out their constitutionally protected work in reporting about the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri.

WOUB’s Perspectives examines hard issues through a local lens

Aug 5, 2014 Perspectives, a WOUB Public Media series that started as a conversation-style show dealing with global issues has morphed into a cinematic, mostly monologue-based web series highlighting world problems, LGBT issues, disability and inclusion, sexual assault and more in an emotional, compelling way.
