OHIO VisCom students dominate NPPF awards

ATHENS, Ohio (Oct. 28, 2013)—Every year, the National Press Photographers Foundation awards grants to college students from around the nation for their talent and dedication to photojournalism. Four of the seven national grants this year were awarded to Ohio University students in the School of Visual Communication. Sara Lewkowicz, Dijana Muminovic, Susannah Kay and Steven Turville all received $2,000 scholarships from the foundation.

Muminovic and Lewkowicz, both graduate students, were the recipients of the Bob Baxter Scholarship and the Kit C. King Scholarship, respectively. Kay, winner of the Reid Blackburn Scholarship, and Turville, winner of the NPPF Still & Multimedia Scholarship, are both undergraduates in the VisCom program.
