Safety and Risk Management combines the dedicated technical and professional staff in the departments of Environmental Health & Safety, Worker's Compensation, Risk Management & Insurance and the Ohio University Police Department.

Our mission is to assure as much as possible that the University will not be prevented from pursuing and achieving its vision and goals as a result of losses to its people or other assets.

Achieving our mission requires broad cooperative effort with many stakeholders.

Challenges arise because people perceive or assess risks in different ways at different times and do not always realize that safety and risk management are responsibilities we share.
