Environmental Services Shop

The Environmental Services Shop is responsible for installing all types of insulation and asbestos abatement, which makes up most of the work done by our shop. Facilities Management must have an Operations and Maintenance program for asbestos and it is our shop's job to help O.U. stay in compliance with federal and state regulations. We work closely with Environmental Health and Safety and many other shops on campus to keep Facilities in compliance.

Working with asbestos abatement requires the shop personnel to be certified every year as Asbestos Abatement Supervisors. We must also follow OSHA, EPA and ODH regulations to keep Ohio University in compliance with federal and state regulations and to make the University a safer place to work.
