Technology Transfer Office

Inventors: How to Work With Us

Faculty and staff are encouraged to disclose new inventions, ideas and technologies to the Technology Transfer Office to ensure the protection of intellectual property. The staff evaluates the market potential for the invention, as well as whether to pursue patent or trademark protection.

The office is guided by Ohio University’s technology commercialization policy, which manages issues of intellectual property ownership, royalty income distribution, and conflict of interest. Policy 17.001 can be read here: http://www.ohio.edu/policy/17-001.html.
