Internal awards programs announce spring funding deadlines 

The Office of the Vice President for Research and Creativity Activity offers several internal awards programs throughout the year to support the research, scholarship, and creative activity of faculty, staff, and students. For a full list, go to http://www.ohio.edu/research/funding.cfm.

Programs with deadlines this spring semester include:

Student Enhancement Awards
Competitive awards to support undergraduate, graduate, and medical student research, scholarship, and creative activities. Awards of up to $6,000 support research and travel to attend a professional meeting to present results.

Deadline:  Thursday January 24, 4:00 p.m.

Ohio University Research Committee (OURC)

Competitive awards of up to $8,000 provide seed money for faculty and staff to pursue new research and creative activity projects.  Priority is for new faculty and staff or established faculty pursuing projects that are a clear departure from previous research foci.

Deadline:  Thursday, January 31, 4:00 p.m.

Baker Fund Awards

Competitive awards of up to $12,000 to faculty and staff support research, scholarship, and creative activity. The committee seeks to support projects which are near completion and can hopefully be brought to full completion with the assistance of an award.  

Deadline:  Thursday, February 14, 4:00 p.m.

1804 Fund

Established by the Ohio University Foundation to support the university's core mission of maintaining, strengthening, and enhancing a learning-centered community, the 1804 Fund promotes collaboration among units and focuses its support through two fund categories:
•    Undergraduate Learning- Curricular innovations, programs and activities that enhance the undergraduate educational experience.
•    Faculty Research and Graduate Studies -Research, scholarly activities, and innovations in graduate education.

Workshop for 1804 Fund proposals: Monday, January 28, 10:00-11:00 a.m.; Tuesday, January 29, 2:00-3:00 p.m.; 301U Alden Library; light refreshments provided

Please note: Attending the 1804 Fund workshop is optional and does not replace the required meeting with either the Vice President for Research and Creative Activity or Dean of University College.

Deadline:
Friday, February 15: Deadline for required preliminary discussion with the Dean of University College or the Vice President for Research and Creative Activity.
Friday, March 15: Proposal submission deadline
