Fall Semester 2014-15 Calendar

 

Regional campus students should refer also to the section of the Schedule of Classes pertaining to their campus: Chillicothe, Eastern, Lancaster, Southern, Zanesville.

Deadlines are 5:00 p.m. EST on the date indicated (unless otherwise noted). However, online transactions may be processed beyond 5:00 p.m. EST if the online system is available.

By registering for classes, a student incurs a legal obligation to pay tuition and fees. This debt may be canceled only if the student officially cancels his/her registration BEFORE Monday, August 25, 2014.

MONDAY, MARCH 17
Academic advising begins for fall semester registration for continuing students (contact advisor/college/department/school/regional campus student services office as appropriate)

DARS reports available for students enrolled spring semester

Note: A DARS (Degree Audit Reporting System) report is issued to students each semester prior to priority registration. See General Information: Registration for method of distribution and location.

Fall semester priority registration begins


MONDAY, MARCH 24 - FRIDAY, APRIL 11

Registration available for fall semester priority registration (see Registration Schedule). This is priority registration based on class rank.

Note: Continuing students can obtain DARS reports at the locations listed under General Information: Registration or at their regional campus student services offices. Re-enrolling students are mailed registration information upon receipt of their request to re-enroll.

Fee Information: The initial due date for fall fees is Thursday, August 21, 2014. This includes registration charges incurred as of Thursday, July 31, 2014. Account balance notifications for newly incurred charges are emailed at the beginning of each month and are due on the 21st of the month. Payments not received by the due date will incur a finance charge of 1.5%. See General Information: Fee Assessment Payment/Deadline-Bills for information on making payments.

Students may check their schedules anytime at My OHIO Student Center. See General Information: Schedules, Student for more information.

Note: New international undergraduate students must first attend international student orientation and will be directed to attend Bobcat Student Orientation if eligible.

Residence halls open at 9:00 a.m. for new students

Admissions, Bursar, Financial Aid, Housing, and Registrar offices open extended hours until 7:00 p.m.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 23
Residence halls open at 9:00 a.m. for new and returning students (according to the move-in schedule)

Admissions, Bursar, Financial Aid, Housing, and Registrar office open 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (limited services will be available)

Residence halls open at 9:00 a.m. for new and returning students

Last day to cancel registration for fall semester (remove all courses and fees)

Note: Cancellation of registration is defined as dropping all classes before the first day of classes.

Fall semester opening date

Last day to add a fall semester class without instructor's approval


SATURDAY, AUGUST 30
Last day to check out of residence hall to receive 80% housing/dining refund


MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1
Labor Day holiday (University offices officially closed; classes not in session)


FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5
Last day to register for fall semester

Note: Students who are in attendance by this date but fail to complete any registration procedures must pay a penalty for retroactive registration correction according to the following schedule:

September 6 - 12 $ 40
September 13 - 19 $ 60
September 20 - 26 $ 80
September 27 - October 3 $100

Last day to add a fall semester class (instructor's permission required)

Last day to remove (drop) a fall semester class from student's academic record with possible fee adjustment
Note: September 6 - October 31 students may withdraw from one or more fall semester classes, but the course will remain on student's academic record with WP/WF and no fee adjustment.

Last day to receive partial fee adjustment (80%) of registration fees for complete withdrawal from the University for fall semester (all fall semester courses removed from the student's academic record)

Last day to apply for audit grading option for fall semester class (apply at your college student services office or regional campus student services office)

Last day to apply for pass/fail grading option for fall semester class (apply at your college student services office or regional campus student services office)

Last day to change a grading option for fall semester class (credit to audit, audit to credit, pass/fail to regular grade option, or regular grade option to pass/fail)

Last day to change college/major for fall semester (contact your college student services office or regional campus student services office)

Last day for removing Incomplete grades incurred during last enrollment (if not removed, I grade will change to F)


SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6
Students may withdraw from one or more fall semester classes through October 31 (last day to withdraw from an individual class)

Note: Course remains on student's academic record with grade of WP (withdrawn passing) or WF (withdrawn failing) and continues to be used in the calculation of tuition and fees. Corrected registration that results in increased hours could increase tuition.

Last day to check out of residence hall to receive 60% housing/dining refund


FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12
Deadline to waive fall semester health insurance, WellBeing Plan, and/or Student Legal Service


SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13

Last day to check out of residence hall to receive 40% housing/dining refund
