Responsibilities

Oversee the operation of the Aquatic Center, a 50 meter Olympic size pool with a wide variety of programs and services.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Recreation Facilities Management from Penn State University.

Experience

While attending Penn State, he worked at as a supervisor at their natatorium. His background has always been in aquatics. As a teenager, Joe volunteered at the local pool operated by the Centre Region Parks and Recreation Department assisting with swim lessons and eventually worked his way up to Aquatics Director of that facility. In 1997 he worked for the Juniata Valley YMCA as Aquatic Director and in 2000 worked with a Christian boys camp specializing in outdoor adventure programming. He began his employment with Ohio University, Campus Recreation in August 2001. Joe's hobbies include carpentry, home renovations, model trains, cooking and mountain biking.
