Equipment Maintenance Staff
Job Functions:
To assist with all aspects of the equipment maintenance program at the Charles
J. Ping Recreation Center. It is the role of the Equipment Maintenance
Assistant to assist with all the maintenance needs of all movable equipment
within the Center. Below are some of the duties and responsibilities of the
Equipment Maintenance Assistant.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist in the overall implementation of the Ping Center
equipment maintenance program
- Assist in the development of new policies and
procedures related to Ping Center equipment
- Participate in Ping Center training events
- Work in close relationship with operations managers and
zone maintenance to ensure efficient and proper functioning of the
facility and equipment
- Serve as customer service representative
- Conduct research on equipment and other issues related
to Ping Center movable equipment
Specific Tasks:
- Maintain appearance of equipment maintenance shop
- Perform monthly preventative maintenance tasks and
report facility problems to Ping Center Director
- Responsible for maintaining Daily Work Orders
- Update and supply equipment maintenance shop with
appropriate forms
- Communicate with Equipment Assistants through memos and
comment log
- Communicate with vendors through e-mail and phone
- Keep equipment maintenance shop supplies stocked
- Complete projects as assigned by Ping Center Director
and Assistant Director
- Work in conjunction with graduate assistants and other
managers
Time Commitment:
- Post an average of 10 hours per week; minimum of 8
hours per week
- Attend and actively participate in Ping Advisory
Council (PAC) weekly meetings
- Attend and actively participate in equipment
maintenance meetings
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate the willingness and ability to learn
- Must possess some experience in mechanical, engineering
and related fields
- Display exceptionally good communication skills
- Display high level of professionalism in dealing with
customers and co-workers
- Mechanical or technical background
- Be flexible and be able to work well with others
- Computer knowledge of programs such as Word, Excel and
Access
