Intramural Leagues & Brackets

League Types

Leagues will be established for men’s and women’s team competition; as well as coed team competitions.  Teams must be all one sex unless the activity specifically allows for coed teams.

New for 2014-15: Coed League Types

In order to better serve our participants, there will be two types of coed leagues for the 2014-15 season:

  • Coed Standard Leagues – Certain rules are altered based upon the gender of participants (i.e., scores involving females may be worth additional points, restrictions may exist based upon gender, etc.)
  • Coed Open Leagues – All scoring rules mirror those in single-gender sports.

NOTE: The number of males and females required to play are the same in each type of coed league.

Recreational Leagues

Participation in Recreational League activities is open to all participants who meet the eligibility requirements  and wish to participate in a round-robin format without a playoff and requires a potentially refundable Administrative Deposit of $30.00 if the maximum number of participants that can play at a time is four or less. An Administrative Deposit of $50.00 is required if five or more participants can play at a time.

Each team will be scheduled in a 4-team league with 5 round-robin games. 

The Administrative Deposit must be submitted during registration.

If a team in a Recreational League is charged with two forfeits (including the Preseason Captain’s Meeting), they must pay a $25.00 Reinstatement Fee for sports where the marketed fee is $50.00 and a $15.00 Reinstatement Fee for sports where the marketed fee is $30.00 by 4:00PM the day of their next scheduled contact to continue to participate in the league.

NOTE: This Reinstatement Fee is non-refundable.

Competitive Leagues

Participation in Competitive League activities are open to all participants who meet the eligibility requirements  and wish to participate in a round-robin format that leads into a playoff and requires a nonrefundable Team Fee of $30.00 if the maximum number of participants that can play at a time is four or less. A nonrefundable Team Fee of $50.00 is required if five or more participants can play at a time.

If a team in a Competitive League is charged with a forfeit in the regular season (including the Preseason Captain’s Meeting), they must pay a $25.00 Playoff Reinstatement Fee for sports where the marketed fee is $50.00 and a $15.00 Playoff Reinstatement Fee for sports where the marketed fee is $30.00 by 4:00PM the day of that sport’s Playoff Captain’s Meeting to be eligible for the playoffs.

Each team will be scheduled in a 4-team league with 3 regular season games and teams who are eligible will be scheduled for at least one playoff game (see Section 14 for playoff information).

In the event that a division does not fill and no games are scheduled and/or played, the teams in that division may have their Team Fee refunded to them by contacting the Intramural Office.
