Welcome to Bird Arena 

The Ohio University, Bird Ice Arena is an indoor ice facility featuring an illuminated 190' by 85' ice surface. Activities include recreational skating, Learn to Play Hockey, Athens Youth Hockey Association, academic classes, intramural broomball, recreational hockey, learn to skate programs, figure skating, birthday parties, and private rentals. The facility is open from late September to March and available to university students, faculty/staff, alumni, and community. Bird Ice Arena is home ice for the four-time ACHA national champions, the ACHA D-1 Ohio University Men's Ice Hockey team.

Bird Arena is committed to improving the quality of life for its students, faculty, staff and their families, as well as quality learning and employment experiences for students interested in careers in Recreation and Sport Management. The departmental programs and facilities complement the academic goals of the university by encouraging physical, emotional and social growth of individuals by developing skills and positive attitudes for leisure through the development of competitive and lifetime activities.


LTPH is off for all of Thanksgiving week. We will resume Monday December 1st!

The administrative office will be open until 1pm today (Nov. 26th). We will resume regular business hours on Monday December 1st at 9am.

Your Ohio Bobcats Hockey team will be taking this weekend off to spend Thanksgiving with their families. We will be back in action December 5th & 6th @ 7:30pm against Rutgers.
