We have a deep tradition of excellence by providing a variety of programming in an environment conducive to the holistic development of our participants and employees. "Where recreation meets learning" has special meaning to us and serves as the framework for our practice. Through the establishment of learning outcomes, the Department promotes the physical, emotional, and social growth of individuals by encouraging the development of lifelong skills and positive attitudes through recreation activities.

Mission Statement:
The Department of Campus Recreation within the Division of Student Affairs
complements the mission of Ohio University by providing a learning-centered environment that promotes the growth of all students through involvement in the operation and/or use of recreational facilities and programs.

Vision Statement:
Grounded in developmental and recreational theory, the Department of Campus Recreation within the Division of Student Affairs operates facilities and programs with a highly trained cadre of students providing a welcome environment which is conducive to personal growth and facilitating social justice. The Department is nationally prominent in the application of standards and produces ethical leaders through an active program of professional development for students and staff.
