Strategic Priorities:  Next Steps

 

Tasks to Accomplish:

  1. Establish definitions and move the strategic priorities from draft status to final status.
  2. Review past metrics and revise and/or create new ones.

 

Assumptions:

  1. Strategic priorities are to be in place for a five-year period.
  2. University-wide participation is essential.
  3. Use existing groups to do the work needed to establish metrics whenever possible.
  4. As work is completed it will be shared with campus community and Board of Trustees.  Project must be completed prior to the June 2010 Board of Trustees meeting.

 

Finalizing Priorities

  1. Post current strategies on EVPP web-site and ask for input on both priorities and definitions.
  2. Input to be reviewed by Vision Ohio Steering Committee and by Deans & Executive Staff.
  3. President and Executive Vice President and Provost to receive recommendations from Vision Ohio Steering Committee and Deans & Executive Staff and decide final priorities.
  4. Board of Trustees will endorse priorities at their April meeting.

Once priorities have been endorsed by the Board of Trustees work on metrics will begin.  The groups listed below will be asked to take the lead on developing metrics.  The Vision Ohio Steering Committee and the Deans and Executive Staff will review the recommended metrics from each group.  The President and Executive Vice Provost and President will make final decisions regarding the metrics.

 

Priority:  Enrollment Management

Metric Work:  Enrollment Management Advisory Committee

                      Senior Enrollment Management Steering Committee

                      Deans Council

Priority:  Improve Balance Sheet & Financial Strength

Metric Work:  Budget Planning Council Subcommittee

Priority:  Strengthen the Curriculum Through Q2S

Metric Work:  Appointed UCC Subgroup


No specific metrics currently exist for this priority in the Five Year Vision Ohio Implementation Plan although issues relating to the quality of the curriculum can be found in Objective Two (pp. 11- 13); Objective Three (pp. 13-15); and Objective Four (p. 15).

 

Priority:  Refine Graduate and Professional Portfolio

Metric Work:  Subcommittee Composed of members of Graduate Council and Council for Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity

Priority:  Faculty, Classified, Administrative Compensation

Metric Work:  Budget Planning Council Subcommittee

Priority:  Successfully Launch and Execute $350 Capital Campaign

Metric Work:  Establish Faculty, Deans, and Executive Staff Advancement Advisory Committee
