Early Retirement Program

Early Retirement Program Overview

Tenured faculty at Ohio University enrolled in the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS) may elect to teach part-time after retirement under the University's Early Retirement program. Tenured faculty enrolled in the Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP) may be eligible for the program if they meet the same eligibility requirements as those enrolled in STRS. Faculty enrolled in the ARP are not eligible for STRS benefits. Retiring faculty choosing this option can continue to teach on a part-time basis, up until age seventy, while receiving their retirement pay.

When filling out the application form, please review the linked chart to determine your last academic year of teaching under the early retirement program. (Click here.)

Colleges submit approved forms to the associate provost for faculty and academic planning, Cutler Hall 3rd Floor.
