May 5, 2004 Members of the Ohio University and Athens community are invited to attend a forum and reception to meet Roderick J. McDavis, a candidate for the presidency of the university, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 6, in Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.
Similar forums and receptions will be held in Memorial Auditorium for presidential candidates David C. Hodge at 5 p.m. Monday, May 10, and Robert A. Kennedy at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 13.
At each event, the candidate will be asked to address the issues and challenges facing higher education, followed by a question and answer session and short reception.
McDavis is provost and vice president for academic affairs and professor of education at Virginia Commonwealth University. McDavis earned his bachelor's degree in social sciences in secondary education from Ohio University in 1970, his master's degree in student personnel administration from the University of Dayton in 1971 and his doctorate in counselor education and higher education administration from the University of Toledo in 1974.
