MINUTES
Tuesday, February 17, 2004 - 3:00 p.m.

Those attending: Board of Trustees and Committee Chairman Robert Walter, Patricia Ackerman, Board of Trustees; Dan DeLawder, Board of Trustees; Robert Kidder, Board of Trustees (who participated by telephone); Shelly Storbeck and Monisha Lazier Kaplan, AT Kearney; Tara Stuckey, Student Trustee; Michael Willits, president, Graduate Student Senate; Hugh Bloemer, associate professor, Geography and chair, Faculty Senate; Josephine Bloomfield, associate professor and director of graduate studies, English; Vibert Cambridge, associate professor and chair, African-American Studies; Tom Davis, professor and chair, counseling & higher education and chair, Intercollegiate Athletics Committee; Madeleine Scott, professor and director, School of Dance; Shawn Ostermann, associate professor and assistant chair, electrical engineering & computer science; Kathy Krendl, dean, College of Communication; Gary Neiman, dean, College of Health & Human Services; Dan Evans, dean, Southern Campus; Terry Conry, director, Facilities Management; William Burke, D.O., past president, Ohio University Alumni Association and faculty, College of Osteopathic Medicine; Charlotte Eufinger, chairperson, Foundation Board; Bick Weissenrieder, chairman of the board, Hocking Valley Bank.
Mr. Walter presented and moved the following motion: The Ohio University Board of Trustees resolves to hold an executive session to consider personnel matters as permitted by Section 121.22(G)(1), of the Ohio Revised Code on this 17th day of February 2004. Mr. DeLawder seconded the motion. On a roll call vote, all voted aye; Mr. Walter, Dr. Ackerman, and Mr. DeLawder.
The committee received an update on the marketing and outreach efforts of AT Kearney and discussed the process to be followed in the future. It was noted that "logs" of potential prospects were being created and that this information would be developed in a format for review by committee members. Schedules and locations for future meetings will be distributed to members with campus visits of final prospects planned for mid-May.
The meeting returned to open session at 5:20 p.m. and adjourned at 5:30 pm.
The next meeting of the Presidential Search Committee will be held on March 15 in Athens, Ohio.
