Howard Lipman, vice president for advancement and president and CEO of the Ohio University Foundation, has accepted the position of Senior Vice President for University Advancement and President and CEO of the Florida International University (FIU) Foundation, effective December 1, 2010.

The transformative gifts OHIO has received during Howard's tenure here the past four years are lifting up our students, faculty and the University as a whole. We wish Howard and his family success, health, and happiness as they return to Florida.

In the coming weeks, I will invite members of our faculty, staff, alumni, Board of Trustees and Foundation Board to serve as members of a search committee to identify candidates to fill this important role. I will select a search firm to aid the search committee in its work.

Effective December 1, 2010, I will lead University Advancement in an interim capacity without receiving added compensation during the national search for Howard's successor.
