I want to thank the faculty, staff, and students who volunteered their time to help our first-year students transition to Ohio University during Move-In Weekend. I especially would like to thank all of our colleges, student organizations, and the Division of Student Affairs, especially Residential Housing and the Campus Involvement Center, for their leadership.

Whether you are a faculty member who assisted with college orientations, a student who helped other students move-in, or a staff member who volunteered at one of the many Move-In Weekend events, you played an important role in creating a special week for the newest members of the Ohio University family. In fact, I continue to receive comments and e-mails from parents and guardians who want to express their appreciation for the kindness, generosity, and helpfulness they received as they helped their children settle into college life.

I certainly am not surprised by their observations for that is the Ohio University way. All of you deserve credit for the positive, singular feeling people hold for our University.
