These speeches and messages are most often delivered by the president, but sometimes may be communicated by other appropriate University leaders with expertise specific to the topic.

NIH awards $1.4 million to Heritage College to study muscle strength loss in seniors
Weakened muscles in people over the age of 65 may not be caused by a loss of muscle mass. Provocative results from several studies suggest that reduced muscle function may be tied to brain and nervous system activity. Now, a $1,376,867 grant awarded by the National Institutes of Health to the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine will allow researchers to more closely examine that connection.<br />

Heritage College has major presence at historic AOA assembly
Several physicians and educators connected to the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine were named to leadership positions within the American Osteopathic Association during an annual meeting of AOA’s House of Delegates in Chicago. As one of the appointments made by incoming AOA president Robert S. Juhasz, D.O., Heritage College Executive Dean Kenneth H. Johnson, D.O., was named to a two-year term as chair of AOA’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA), the accrediting agency for osteopathic medical schools.

OHIO Guarantee tuition program receives chancellor’s approval [VIDEO]
The chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents has approved Ohio University’s new tuition guarantee program – named The OHIO Guarantee – setting in motion plans for a new transparent and predictable tuition structure to begin effective with the 2015-16 academic year. The proposal was adopted by the Ohio University Board of Trustees at their January meeting and passed to Chancellor John Carey for final approval.
