Climate Commitment

Ohio University underscores its commitment to the environment through a range of initiatives with the support of the Office of the President. Ohio University was the first four-year public university in the state to join the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment, a pledge to address climate change through research, education, and institutional commitments to climate neutrality.

The Office of Sustainability involves students, staff, faculty, and the local community in efforts to reduce consumption of resources and minimize the University’s ecological footprint. In addition, faculty, staff, and students worked together to develop a comprehensive University sustainability plan, which guides the institution’s efforts to further elevate its standing as a leader in green initiatives.
