 | Data Security Progress Update I take the recent lapses in our computer network security very seriously and deeply apologize for the stress and inconvenience that this has caused you. |
 | Budget Realignment 2 As the 2005-06 academic year ends, I want to provide you with an update concerning the 2007 Fiscal Year (FY) budget realignment process. The administrative and academic leadership groups have worked together on the budget realignment plan to identify ways to realize savings while retaining essential functions and services.
 | New Health Benefits The University consistently monitors whether its insurance companies are providing competitive rates and service. While the University is pleased with Medical Mutual of Ohio’s service as a third-party administrator, it is good business practice to place the benefits package out for competitive requests for proposals to compare our current program with those offered by other companies. This ensures that the University is able to provide quality health-care choices to its employees at a reasonable cost.
 | Budget Realignment On Friday, March 31st, I provided an update on the budget realignment process to the chairs of Administrative, Classified, Faculty, and Student senates, the Chairs and Directors Council, and AFSCME. Provost Kathy Krendl, Vice President for Finance and Administration Bill Decatur, and Linda Lonsinger, director of employee and labor relations, also attended this meeting.
 | Third Phase for Vision OHIO We now are in the third phase, developing action plans and priorities through the 10 goal-specific implementation teams. Each team will submit a summary of its deliberations, as well as rank-ordered priorities. During this time, colleges and schools also are completing their strategic plans to align with Vision OHIO.
