Sustainability Council launches Web site A new university Web site seeks to highlight progress toward a comprehensive sustainability plan at Ohio University. The official site of the Presidential Advisory Council for Sustainability Planning includes council guidelines, agendas, meeting minutes and online resources relating to university-wide sustainability measures.

President appoints sustainability council Comprising faculty, staff and students, the Presidential Advisory Council for Sustainability Planning will hold its first meeting today. The newly formed advisory council is charged with developing and submitting recommendations to President Roderick J. McDavis for a comprehensive sustainability plan as well as a university-wide climate action plan.

Budget issues discussed on radio show President Roderick J. McDavis touched on a variety of topics during his hour-long appearance Thursday on "The Party Line" radio show, taking questions on everything from the state budget to enrollment trends. McDavis takes part every month in the WATH broadcast, for which podcast archives are available.

Appalachian, Urban scholars named The Appalachian and Urban Scholars for the 2009-2010 freshman class have been announced. Each regional campus accepted Appalachian Scholars, marking the first time the Zanesville campus has hosted one. Four Urban Scholars also were chosen to attend Ohio University.

Benoit selected as new executive vice president and provost The 14-member executive vice president and provost search committee chose Pamela Benoit of the University of Missouri to succeed Kathy Krendl. Benoit has a slough of achievements under her belt, including increasing graduate applications and fostering collaboration between faculty and graduate student groups. |
