Meet Dr. McDavis
Welcome to the Ohio University Office of the President website. As both President and an alumnus, I often reflect on what OHIO means to me. And, like many of our graduates, I think of Ohio University as my home away from home because of our friendly students, dedicated professors and staff, our historic College Green, and the classic buildings in which I remember attending my first University classes.
Today, Ohio University students and professors are working together on everything from investigating the biology of dinosaurs, to developing alternative fuels, to helping shape our future in space. This welcoming spirit of collaboration and innovation has become an OHIO hallmark. The promise of Ohio University lives in all of the things our past, present, and future graduates go on to achieve in their lives—as successful professionals and leaders in their communities.
So if you've been away from our campus for a while, I invite you to return once more and walk across the College Green you remember. You also can connect with OHIO alumni chapters and see what Alumni Association events are taking place in your area of the country. And if you're just discovering what Ohio University is all about, I invite you to explore our website and visit the Future Students page or take a virtual tour. Once you get here and see our campus in person, I think you'll want to make this your college home—and we look forward to welcoming you into the OHIO family!
On a closing note, I thank all of the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends who support our mission and continue to make Ohio University a great place to earn an education, prepare for a career, and collaborate on research.
