Bids will be awarded to the highest bidder subject to the following exceptions: when the bids are accepted, rejected or found to be two or more equal or tied, the following will apply:

a. Bids will be awarded to the highest bidder when determined to be reasonable, i.e., commensurate with the fair market value of the property and were independently arrived at in open competition.

b. Rejection of bids will occur if bids are below fair market value, improperly filled out or lacking in required details. Ohio University may, upon rejecting all bids, re-bid at a later date or determine the fair market value of the property and offer it for open sale at that figure.

c. Equal or tie bids will be awarded based on the time stamp will showing submission date and time. The be the successful bidder.

Bid acceptance will be at the Ohio University Purchasing Department. Bids may be submitted up to 10:00 A.M. on the Friday of the bid opening week. All bids must be time stamped by the Purchasing Department when submitted.

Bids will be opened at 10:00 A.M. the Friday of the bid opening week. Notice of award will be posted on the "For Sale" board outside the Purchasing Department no later than two (2) working days following bid closing. Attempts will be made to notify successful bidder by telephone as promptly as possible.

Successful bidders must pick up their purchases within five (5) work days following the bid opening or will have made special arrangements with the Purchasing Department. Failure to meet pick-up schedule may result in forfeiture of the property concerned.

Items will be displayed for sale in the basement area of McBee II; Ohio University Stores/Receiving; West State Street, Athens, Ohio 45701

Items for sale will be on display for a minimum of seven (7) days prim to bid opening. Hours will be as posted or advertised. withdrawal of items prior to bid opening may occur if it is determined that an item is of further use at Ohio University or another state institution.

Submission of a bid constitutes a binding contract. All sales are final. When a holiday falls on the Friday of the bid opening, the bids will be opened the following Monday morning.

Bidders may withdraw their bids by appearing in person at the Purchasing Department prior to the bid opening.
