All efforts to attain philanthropic gifts from the private sector are to be coordinated through the Development Office to: insure maximum efficiency and productivity; establish funding priorities; serve as a central clearinghouse or depository for resource materials and records; and coordinate efforts in order that potential conflicts of interest and cross-purpose solicitation of donors might be avoided.
The Development Office through The Ohio University Fund, Inc. will record all gifts and deposit all monies to assure donors that proper accounting and stewardship procedures are being maintained. Formal acknowledgement and receipting will be utilized to ensure recognition of the donor and to provide for tax deductibility.
Ohio University colleges or departments wishing to undertake private fund raising projects are to contact the Development Office for assistance.
