40.047:  Rest Breaks for Classified Employees

Purpose

This policy serves to provide a uniform policy regarding rest breaks for Ohio University Classified employees.

Policy

Two 15-minute rest breaks will be provided each classified employee during each eight-hour work shift. One break will be taken during the first four hours of the shift and one break will be taken during the second four hours of the shift. All breaks are to be scheduled by the supervisor responsible for other work scheduling. Whenever possible, rest breaks should be scheduled during the middle part of each four-hour work period, and should be taken at the work site.
