The Ohio University Police Department provides the following services to Ohio University students, faculty and staff.
- Bike Patrol

- Students have said that Bike Patrol officers are more approachable. In addition, Bike Patrol officers are able to patrol more of the campus. Officers on Bike Patrol include: Lt. Steve Noftz, Sgt. John Stabler, Ofc. Dave Valentine, Ofc. Tim Woodyard, Ofc. Richard Comer, Ofc. Brandon King, Ofc. Brian Newvahner, and Ofc. Leo Carsey.
- Vehicle Assistance

- OUPD officers will unlock your vehicle or provide a battery jump start on any campus location.
- Rape Aggression Defense (RAD)

- The RAD program teaches realistic self-defense tactics and techniques to women in the Ohio University Community. [more info]
- Campus Area Law Enforcement Links (CALL) Program

- OUPD officers sponsor programs on many issues including crime prevention and self defense at campus locations, primarily residence halls.
- Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)

- OUPD assess the campus environment for improvements that can increase safety and decrease crime.
- Crime Alerts

- OUPD will provide timely alerts to crimes or other emergency situations to the campus community. [more info]
- Safe Arrival for Everyone - Tonight (SAFE-T) Patrol

- Student employees on SAFE-T Patrol will provide escorts to/from campus locations from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily. [more info]
- Background Checks (Ohio & FBI Checks)/Fingerprinting

- Effective February 09, 2009, the fee for providing fingerprint services at the Ohio University Police Department will be as follows:
- $6.00 - Fingerprint cards only (cards will be given back to the customer/department for submission to BCI)
- $28.00 - BCI (Ohio) WebCheck background check only
- $30.00 - FBI (National) WebCheck background check only
- $58.00 - BCI and FBI (Ohio and National)WebCheck background check
- Please bring your drivers license with you. We accept cash, check or money orders made payable to Ohio University.
- Effective December 15, 2010, the Ohio University Police Department will be changing the hours of business for fingerprinting services. Services will be provided Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Clery and Campus Right to Know Reporting

- OUPD prepared and provides detailed crime statistics for all Ohio University campuses on an annual basis. Reports are available online and in hard copy at the office. OUPD also provides a link to the Registered Sex Offender database for the state of Ohio. [more info]
- Request for Public Records

- All records of the Ohio University Police Department are public unless they are specifically exempt from disclosure under the Ohio Revised Code. You may obtain a copy of a police report filed with this department by coming to the Communication Center at the Ohio University Police Department (located at 135 Scott Quadrangle) Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. with the exception of holidays recognized by the university.
