Cameron Hodge

Cameron was an undergraduate researcher in the laboratory for academic year 03-04 and 04-05. He researched the phylogeography of Batrachospermum macrosporum in North and South America. He has traveled to the Amazon region of Brazil to collect specimens as well as Alabama and Mississippi in the US. He examined differences among locations using sequence data from the mitochondrial cox2-3 spacer region and hopes to have his paper submitted for publication in summer 2005. He was awarded a Provost's Undergraduate Research Fund grant and a Graselli Research Award to help fund his research. In addition, he won first place for his poster at the 2004 Plant Biology Undergraduate Poster Session.
