Hello Class CTCH 127

I started college in the spring of 2010, not only for myself but for my kids. I wanted to show my kids that there is more to life than just sitting at home doing nothing. I told myself that when they got old-enough and were in school full-time I would go. I'm going to school for Computer Technology, because I have worked around computers for at least 20 years. When I was in high school I took a two year Business Professional of America trade school class and I loved every minute of it. I am not able to see that well so with computers I can changes font sizes and screen resolution to make it easy for me to see the things that I am trying to do. Computers fascinate me in so many ways, because of all of the things it is possible to do on a computer. There are so many different software programs for computers. For example: some of the picture software that you can use to edit pictures; like taking two pictures and making them one picture. You can change the backgrounds of pictures to make it look like they were taken in a different place.

I like going to my kids sporting events and cheering for them. Being able to see them run and play while making some new friends. My kids are my life and they are into different kinds of sports: baseball, soccer and football. My oldest is 10 and he is getting ready to start playing football. This for him is something new. He has tried baseball and did not like it at all. There was too much standing around for him. My youngest is 7 and he really enjoys playing soccer and he is really good at it. I want them to enjoy playing sports because it is something that I could never do because of my site. To be a part of a team; to feel like they belong is something that is very important to a kid’s self-esteem.

I like to play video games and computer games. The graphics on some of the games are really cool. I can remember when games did not have any graphic at all. To stop and think about how much that the gaming industry has changed in just the last 5 years is amazing. The games I play are ones that has a purpose or goals that I have to do. I am not into killing and bloodshed, that just does not interest me at all and I won’t let my kids play games like that either. With school work I really don’t get a long of time to play games anymore but I do still play a little bit. I use playing games as a way of coming down if I am mad or upset. Some games I have to really pay close attention to so it kind of pushes everything out of my head for a little while.
