Research
My primary research interests are the geomorphology and sedimentology of late Pleistocene paleolakes, particularly Lake Bonneville, arid lands geomorphology, history of geomorphology, and geomorphic impacts of off-road vehicles.

Courses
Physical Geography (Geog 1100)

Earth-sun relationships and an introduction to the study of weather and climate, water, landforms, soils, and natural vegetation.

Introduction to Statistics in Geography (Geog 2710)
The basics of descriptive statistics, probability, and common nonparametric and parametric inferential statistics with an emphasis on geographic applications.

Landforms and Landscapes (Geog 3/5150)
Geomorphic processes and resulting landforms and landscape assemblages. Topics include structure and tectonics, weathering, mass wasting, karst, and fluvial, eolian, coastal, and glacial geomorphology.

Air Photos (Geog 3/5650)
A practical approach to the use of air photos, including types of aerial photography, photo acquisition, basic measurements, stereoscopic viewing, and object interpretation.

Advanced Physical Geography (Geog 4/5110)
The focussed study of a selected theme in physical geography, typically arid lands physical geography.

Graduate Seminar in Geomorphology (Geog 6150)
In-depth study of classic and current literature and research in a specific area of geomorphology, such as fluvial geomorphology or Quaternary paleolake studies.
