Items of Interest to all University Web Authors

Introduction

The information available from this page is intended to assist anyone at the University who is writing or maintaining Web pages, whether officially or personally, especially those using any of these three Web servers operated by Computer Services:

The Computer Services Web server, "CSCWWW.CATS.OHIOU.EDU" (also known as "WWW.CATS.OHIOU.EDU" or simply "CSCWWW"), for a Campus, a College, a School, an Academic Department, a Center or Program, an Administrative Office, a Professional Organization, or a recognized Student Organization.
The OUVAXA Internet Access and E-Mail system, for personal pages of that system's users. OUVAXA and CSCWWW are using identical software for their operating system and Web server. As a result, many of the same on-line resources will assist users of both systems.
The OAK Internet Access and E-Mail system, for personal pages of that system's users.

The Computer Services staff can provide limited consulting services, primarily for official (departmental) Web pages. We believe that if you don't yet know how to write Web pages, you will be able to learn how to do so by taking advantage of our non-credit HTML seminars and the information available from individuals who have already learned how, from appropriate newsgroups, through the Web (see below), and in popular publications.
