Aviation is a large part of my life. I first was introduced to aviation by taking a "Young Eagles" introductory flight. I told myself that someday I would no longer want to be the passenger but I wanted to be the pilot flying the plane. Once I was old enough, I was able to get a job at the Fairfield County Airport. My desire to fly only continued to grow stronger. It wasn't too much longer before I was able to begin my flight training!
Overall, a lot of my time was either spent working at the airport or flying in the skies. It wasn't easy though, as I spent many hours studying regulations and planning for different flights. In May of 2012, I made my first solo flight; I had the support of all my family and friends there to watch. The next 8 months, I was preparing for my final checkride/examination in order to receive my private pilot license. I had made many different flights around the state of Ohio. Eventually all the hard work had paid off, January of 2013, I received my private pilot license. I have always had a fascination with flying and now I can finally say I am a pilot.
What makes flying so great? In my opinion, it is the excitement of accelerating to such a fast speed, lifting off and flying miles above the ground, being able to fly over a city in just a few minutes, and then coming back being able to land on the ground safely. If you want the opportunity to experience what flying is like, I have added a link to the Fairfield County Airport and from there you can access all the information about the experience of flying!
