The SX-70's created at this time are evidence of an excitement and engagement that I felt for art. My mind and eye were indulged with a camera and 600 sheets of film that were able to fix a moment in their crude yet predictable way. The images were quickly changed to reflect the excitement I felt and to record an accurate response to that moment. John Chakeres and I created these images together and apart from each other over a period of about 6 weeks. We then convened to create our publication D'ART OBJECTS a Collaboration., Nuance Press, 1979. The project of creating the layout of the book and the inclusion of 169 images from the original creations took approximately six months. I feel this work provoked me to feel satisfied and about being an artist for life.
