The paintings on paper are the first works I completed after the SX-70's project. They were done with the same exuberance I felt while working on the photographs. Immediate, temporal, fresh, truly moments of free expression. They were done in a three month period of time, numbering 100, while living in San Patricio, Jalisco, Mexico. I would walk to the market every day in the hot sun and return with one image from what I had seen and recalled on my way back to my studio. These images were truly a record of this area and continue to inform my work.
