The handmade papers were reasons to see for the first time, a kind of exercise in patience. They were totally liquid when they were first formed. This allowed for each work to make its own suggestion as to how it would be formed and to reflect what I might know about the essence of the forms it suggested. The perpetual softness of the paper is still seductive to me.
