Virtual Tour of High Bay 1

Sustainable Energy and Advanced Materials (SEAM) Laboratory

High Bay 1 is the Supercritical Fluid and Fuel Technology Laboratory wing of the SEAM Lab. This tour consists of three different focal points of High Bay 1. From these focal points the viewer may see the Graft Copolymerization Unit, Supercritical Water Oxidation Unit, Fuel Reformation Unit, Fluoropolymerization Unit, Supercritical Extraction Unit, Emulsion Polymerization Unit, and the Gasoline/Diesel Synthetic Fuel Unit. Each experimental process unit consists of at least one high pressure reactor and supporting hardware inside a metal enclosure. The various reactors are constructed of 316 stainless steel, Hastelloy C276, Inconel 625, and Haynes Alloy 230. All experimental process units were assembled by Dr. Lee's research team. A fourth focal point features one of the Fuels Analysis Section.
