For the last thirteen years, DIRECTV has been improving the way satellite TV is viewed.
DIRECTV delivers a digital signal 99.96% of the time whether it is raining or the sun is shining.
DIRECTV offers a variety of packages to choose from ranging in price from $29.99 a month to $99.99 a month. The lowest base package a customer can get offers 40 channels, and the highest package a customer can get offers over 250 channels. Each package contains local channels for free which is what a lot of customers look for and demand. Local channels are accessible to more than 94% of TV households, with additional markets coming soon. Some local channels will even be in HD. Each package that DIRECTV has is customized to fit the needs of their vast customer base.
Along with the base package channels, customers can also choose to add other channels to their package for a monthly charge. DIRECTV customers can add up to five Premium Packages like HBO, Starz, Showtime, Cinemax and Sports Pack.
DIRECTV will soon be offering their customers more than 150 channels in high definition for only $9.99 a month. High Definition makes watching TV a completely different experience due to the clarity and sharpness of each image. Right now DIRECTV HD offers 900 hours of HD programming each week.
DIRECTV offers the most sports anywhere and the most sports in HD. Subscribers can add professional and college sports packages to their programming for a monthly fee. Packages include NFL SUNDAY TICKET, MLB EXTRA INNINGS, NASCAR HotPass, NCAA MEGA MARCH MADNESS, ESPN GamePlan, NBA LEAGUE PASS, ESPN Full Court, NHL CENTER ICE, MLS DIRECT KICK and others. Many of the games on DIRECTV are interactive. This function lets DIRECTV subscribers focus on different drivers with NASCAR HotPass, or keep their own bracket with NCAA MEGA MARCH MADNESS, for example. The appropriate receiver is needed to access this function.
More and more TV’s are having DIRECTV receivers built into them because they are easy to use, save space and reduce the appearance of wires. Customers can choose between standard receivers or advanced equipment. The advanced products include an HD Receiver, DVR receiver, or HD DVR Receiver. An HD Receiver allows the customer access to watch programming in HD if they have an HD television. The DVR receiver gives the customer the capability to record live television, pause, fast forward, rewind, or use slow motion as they need. With DVR the customer can also record an entire season of their favorite television show. All they need to do is simply select the show they want to have recorded and the DVR automatically stores it. Two shows can even be recorded at once.
DIRECTV lets their customers lease their receivers for a small fee each month so that the customer doesn’t have to worry about installation or services for it. Standard receivers are usually free (up to four rooms) for the actual boxes, while the advanced equipment starts at $99.00 per box. Sometimes a discount can be used to waive the cost of one advanced equipment box. The lease commitments are one year for standard equipment and two years for advanced equipment.
Before a customer can receive DIRECTV, they must have a clear view to the southern sky. They also must have permission from their landlord if they do not own their home.
