SUMMER RUNNING INFORMATION SUMMER RUN MEETINGS (ALL DATES ARE OPTIONAL) You are encouraged to run throughout the summer, and to run with teammates when possible. If you are looking to run with a group, we will be meeting at specific times to run, and you are welcome and encouraged to join us when possible. Friends and family are welcome. Walkers can walk while we run. YOU SHOULD COME PREPARED WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT YOUR RUN IS FOR THAT – CHECK YOUR TRAINING SCHEDULE! Monday, August 4th First day of practice – time to be determined DIRECTIONS Broughton’s nature Preserve in Marietta: from Marietta, turn onto 3rd Street, follow 3rd Street all the way through town to the edge of town (approximately 3 miles). Third Street becomes Route 60 as you leave town. At the edge of town the road will diverge into Route 60 (left lane) and Route 821 (right lane). Merge into right lane and follow Route 821 north approximately 3/4 mile. You will come to a large gravel parking area on the left side of Route 821 (you should see a flag pole next to the road with several flags including a Marietta College flag). Enter this parking area and you will see a large wooden sign for the Broughton Wildlife area and behind it is a secondary parking area. Little Hocking Park - Go just past Little Hocking School on SR 124. The park is right next to school and has a ½ mile walking/jogging path, restrooms, and parking area. There are several running loops of different distances from the park. McDonough Wildlife Preserve – in Vienna, follow Grand Central Avenue past the mall, until it becomes Rt 14. Just past Scot’s Nursery and Landscaping, make a right onto Rosemar Road. Follow Rosemar Rd until you get to Jackson Park (softball fields) on the right; the entrance to McDonough Wildlife Preserve is on the left opposite Jackson Park. There are ‘statues’ of turkey, deer, etc at the entrance.
