is my larger site for the learning, researching, and teaching of theoretical criminology. It aims to point students back to the original texts, and includes an extensive bibliography of criminology texts and journals.

Independent midwives and birth activists have created a wide variety of local, national, and international grassroots organizations. In my town of Athens, Ohio, local women and childbirth educators have organized The Birth Circle to educate, support, and empower women and families during birth and with the long-term vision of creating a local birth center, such as El Paso's Maternidad la Luz. The Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA) is a North American professional association for midwives, supported by Citizens for Midwifery, a national consumer group with a wealth of information about the legal status of midwifery and the creation of the Midwives Model of Care. Other groups seek to transform birth culture globally, including the journal and international network that is Midwifery Today.
