1963/11/22 12:36 The Rex Jones show is joined in progress about three minutes before the first news bulletins start coming in about the Kennedy assassination attempt.  The reports grow more frequent and more grim as the hour progresses, and the aircheck ends with the announcement of the President's death.  Very dramatic, especially because you know what's coming! 64 Unscoped

WFAA 570 1975/04/06 22:29 Bud Buschardt.  "Nostalgia Place" program.  Very interesting beginning.  Mr. Buschardt interviews Jimmy Dean, of "Big Bad John" and sausage fame, about the song "Big Bad John."  Specifically, they discuss how the original version of the song ended with the line "at the bottom of this line lies one hell of man" instead of the familiar "...a big, big man."  Dean was forced to change the lyric by the record producers, even though they did allow a "hell" earlier in the song ("a hell of a place the miners knew well").

The 45 rpm single with the original lyric is very hard to come by and was very valuable, even in 1975.  The original version is played, but Mr. Buschardt notes that it was a tape of the song, not the 45 single, that he played.
