The USS North Carolina BB-55 in July 01

Driving hints if you plan to visit the USS North Carolina.

As I drove southeast on I-40, I followed the signs that were posted directing me to the ship.  I believe that every business in the city had requested a drive by.  To save gas money, you may just want to go to Wilmington, and take the small tourist launch to the ship area, because downtown Wilmington is a must see anyway.  Try to save enough time to see the Cape Fear and Railroad museums, not to mention the Burgwin Wright House.   Return to my Navy page, or my home page.
