Those Gay People?

It's so easy to put down people who are different from us.  We laugh at those who look strange, tease those who aren't normal.   But what is normal?   Normal is not the same as "average."   Just because the average human being is straight doesn't mean that you have to be straight to be normal.   For some people, being straight is the most abnormal thing they could be.

If you are heterosexual, imagine what your life would be like if society dictated that you could only be accepted if you had relationships with people of the same sex as you.   You would have two choices.   You could do as society dictates even though it goes against every cell in your being.   You could marry someone you don't love, have what you feel to be abnormal sex, and live your life unhappy and unfulfilled.  Or you can go against society norms, love who you are meant to love, be true to yourself, and fight for your right to be happy and safe from all who hate you.

Most heterosexuals would choose the second option.   It takes courage to stand up for what you believe in.  But if we would fight for our rights, why then do we hate and judge those who are in the exact same scenario?   Gay men and lesbians are doing exactly the same thing we would do if the roles were reversed.  They are fighting for the rights to live a normal life.   This means having a life where they are free to love, marry, have a family, and be open without fear of others' hatred.

Homosexuality is victimless.   No one gets hurt when two people come together in love.   Why then are they so hated by so many people?  What is it about human nature that makes people fear and despise those they can't understand?  Maybe if we try to put ourselves in their shoes, we will see that there is no real difference between heterosexuals and homosexuals and no reason for hate.   We are all human and we all deserve respect and we all have the right to be true to ourselves.

Would we really prefer that they spend their entire lives living a lie for our own comfort and convenience?

No, let's be reasonable and STOP THE HATE.
