I grew up in Milwaukee Wisconsin attending Rufus King High School.
As a child I lived with my sisters Ruth and
Helen and of course my Mom and Dad, Hilda and Paul Ahlrep. Both of my parents were born in Germany, with Mom coming here via Ellis Island, and my Dad hiding on a ship. Unfortunately, he was discovered and was sent back. He tried again and after being caught the second time, he was given an option to stay if he joined the Army, so my Dad served in the Army during World War Two.
